Oldcourt, Baltimore Co Cork Ireland
This was our starter sailing yacht after dingy sailing for many years and we loved it so much we have traded up to a newer, bigger, boat last year. A four-berther, in good condition for its age, and with all-new standing rigging in 2015, all it needs is a coat of anti-foul and an anode, and it is ready to sail. A 2014 survey is available, all the minor recommended works have been completed. It is currently standing at Old Court Boatyard on the Skibbereen-Baltimore road. It is equipped with compass, depth sounder, log speedometer and wind speed and direction (new mast head fittings 2015). It is also wired for a portable Garmin GPS 557 (inclusion negotiable subject to price). It is equipped with a Yanmar 1 GM 10 horsepower diesel engine.

The hull is moulded in FRP with a straight, raked stem, round bilges and a slightly curved transom. The topsides are finished in a white gel coat-type coating with a blue painted stripe fitted just above the waterline. Below the waterline, the hull is stiffened internally by moulded FRP grid of longitudinal stringers and transverse floors, bulkheads and bonded on furniture.
The cockpit, deck and superstructure are of moulded FRP construction with some non-slip matting bonded to the deck area. The moldings are thought to be retained by FRP matting, self-tapping screws, marine sealant and nuts and bolts to an internal flange on the hull moulding. Below the waterline the hull is thought to be coated in a white gel coat and protected by antifoul.
The cockpit moulding is finished in a white–pigmented gel coat.
‘Killena’ has a cast-iron ballast-type keel and a balanced rudder. She has a self-draining cockpit and a tiller steering. She has a masthead type rig, featuring a deck stepped main mast.

The saloon is fitted with seating around a main saloon folding table.
The galley is to the port side of the saloon area and is equipped with a two-burner Jobco Alcohol burning cooker. There is a stainless-steel sink, served by an electric water pump. The galley sink is drained through a seacock. There are a range of lockers and drawer units. The work surfaces were all fitted with fiddles to prevent items sliding off when at sea.
The forward cabin is fitted with a double berth, drawers, hanging lockers and shelves.
A heads compartment is fitted to the starboard side of the saloon area and contains a chemical toilet and hand basin
