The Pentland is one of five Westerly models all based on the same 31' hull designed by Laurent Giles. A wheel-steered, centre cockpit twin-keeled yacht, this example is the ketch version, with a layout that maximises space in the cockpit and on deck. She has been well maintained, with the standing rigging replaced 5 years ago, and is well equipped with navigation instruments and aids. Families in particular may appreciate the extensive storage provision and the flexible accommodation afforded by the separate aft cabin and convertible double berth in the saloon. Despite her age, she is a soli... read more

Owned and updated by a professional boat builder, this example of the Nautilus class is considered by some to be the best folk boat derivative ever made. She's fully rigged for solo sailing and an extensive refurbishment includes cutter rig, complete engine rebuild in 2017, solid oak flooring and replacement rubbing strake. This looks a particularly tidy example of its kind. These boat details are subject to contract. Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered. These boat details are subject to contract. Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered. These yachts are extremely competitive club racers, offering open accommodation for 4 crew with excellent headroom. The lifting keel mechanism is well placed and does not impede movement and the lifting keel variant, simply rigged, is ideal for all levels of experience, including relatively inexperienced sailors . A clean example that benefits from new sails in 2014 and new outboard in 2015. Register with Boatshed to see 72 extra photos of this Jaguar 21 Lifting keel. This Nicholson 32 Mk X comes to the market appearing to be in nice condition family owned since 1976 you can see she has been lovingly cared for and sailed throughout this time. Unfortunately some information is a little vague but I think whoever is lucky enough to purchase this boat will benefit from lots of little hidden bits and pieces. She seems to have benefitted from some upgrades around 2010, cutlass bearing, new shaft, new sail etc of which there is a vast wardrobe of spares. Her engine has been regularly maintained and was last serviced May 2018 and she had osmosis treatment 2009. Her... read more

The Sigma 33 OOD is a well known and popular cruiser racer designed by David Thomas as an offshore one design. As a cruiser she is stiff and seaworthy with good performance and can give a good account of herself on the racing circuit. The accommodation comprises of a double berth in the forward cabin with the heads to port and a hanging locker opposite. The main cabin has a pilot berth, a settee berth and a quarter berth with an ample sized galley. She also has a separate navigation area. This example has been well looked after, and appears to be in very good condition. The sails have been ch... read more

Robert Tucker was best known for his hard chine plywood and steel designs and I was very surprised to know how many well known boats came from his drawing board. The R383 was an adapted version of his original R38 and was a popular build. They have circumnavigated, cruised up in the Arctic Circle and several have crossed the Atlantic. This particular boat was built by Chris Garner, a steel boatbuilder of Havant who built her for himself initially. The current owners planned to refit her for long term, long distance cruising but unfortunately their plans had to change and she is now ashore awa... read more

'Don't ever position yourself above a Corby 25 on the starting line' is a quote you may hear from a seasoned IRC campaigner. This is because the 25's are renowned for their pointing ability due to their narrow beam and bulb keel combination. They are still recognised as one of the most potent IRC performers and they consistently deliver top results for their owners. This Corby 25 was commissioned in 2005 and has been lightly raced. Originally in Wales and known as Wil2Win she has won Abersoch Week as well as many other titles, and is now seriously for sale. The mainsail has only seen 2 regatt... read more

This Sunbird 32 was the first off the production line and her woodwork is more substantial than the following boats. Originally finished new for the Southampton Boat Show she was originally used as a demonstrator She was then extensively refitted in 1986 and has an unexpected amount of space internally which would make extended stays on board very easy The addition of a solid fuel stove increases creature comforts. These boats have a reputation for being great boats to sail and with the simple rig, it make single handed sailing very easy. Used regularly and extensively cruised in the Channel ... read more

This Bavaria 50 cruiser has a very solid feel and a very good layout on deck and below. It is a five-cabin model with the split V-berth, a shared head forward, and a cabin with two bunks. The interior is very airy thanks to 17 opening hatches and 12 ports. Bavaria 50 cruiser is a well-rounded, comfortable boat with many functional and ergonomic characteristics. This little Westerly was a pleasure to be invited aboard. Her hull appeared to be in fantastic condition. She is a very clever little design for her layout, aft cabin that sleeps 2, saloon with linear galley and spacious saloon seating or berth - note in the pictures you can see the saloon table either hides up by the headlining of the coachroof out of the way or is lowered to create additional berthing whilst always being available to be a standard saloon table. As as you step forwards from the galley there is a good sized heads and forward cabin. She has a roller boom, furling headsail and a... read more
