Designed by Olle Enderlein of Sweden, she was (apart from the trim tab on the keel) a typical cruiser-racer of her era, with hull lines similar to other modern classics such as the Contessas, Elizabethans and Hustlers.
They are a capable seaworthy cruiser and are also often used in club racing; over 1300 were built and they continue to be popular today.
Recently completed a thoroughly enjoyable cruise around Ireland.
This boat also has numerous wins and top three finishes in the HYC autumn league.
The boat has a full brand new Z-Spars mast professionally fitted by Irish Masts and Rigging in May 2010.

All new running rigging with new Dyneema halyards

Windex with built in VHF aerial.
Fully reconditioned Yanmar YSE12 engine professionally rebuilt by Yanmar specialists CHMarine in Cornwall, UK , in April 2010.
In perfect condition, starts first turn every time. Miser on fuel.
Interior retrim and full overhaul in the winter of 2009/2010.

Full new suite of internal cushions.
Full new suite of leatherette removable external cushions.

Perhaps overbuilt by today’s standards, the Van de Stadt Rebel 41 is a yacht designed to have proper offshore capabilities, good stability and a practical offshore layout.
Interior build is to a high standard and the excellent equipment list means there is not much to be done to make her ready for long distance sailing. The sail wardrobe is very good and the boat has been maintained to a high standard.
The hull was moulded in 1975, however, the first owner did not complete the build until 1985 when she was first launched. It is obvious that a great deal of skill and care went into the joinery which is very nicely finished.
